A downloadable project

I ask you to please read the following carefully.

This has been very difficult to write out.
I’m asking that you read the following very carefully and to the end.
Thanks in advance.

Hi! It’s me. Divivor.
The Solo Dev of VRGK.

This will be my last official announcement.

This is not going to work out anymore.

The past 2.5 years, I have been almost non-stop working on VRGK. It was amazing to see that the first Release gathered so much attention and people wanted to see it do more. Only because of this I was able to create 2 more major Updates to this System.

I am thankful to everyone who has been supporting this project.

And also: I’m sorry.

I can’t continue this project anymore.

The negatives about continuing have started to outweigh the positives. This includes business, financial and personal reasons. This Project has grown too big for me.

I’m running out of time faster than I have the budget for it. In June I have talked to the Community about this and started preparing the next steps. That did not work out.

I talked with lots of people over the past month to help me sort out my thoughts and maybe to find a different solution, but there is no good solution anymore. Not for me. Continuing has become a risk I can't take.

This is the end of Divivor.

I’m closing Business, and this is my goodbye.

Running a business is complicated.

One of the biggest mistakes that I have probably made, was not turning VRGK into a Plugin sooner. Unreal Engine 5 has caused more problems than I have anticipated, and the development of Version 3.0 did not end up like planned.

After the release of VRGK Version 3.0, sales began to decline a lot faster than expected.

On top of that, I was unable to do my work for a big part of 2023 due to a variety of unexpected but very serious reasons. This has been directly affecting the development of Project Nova.

I am not a Team of multiple people. I can’t rely on anyone else for the things I’m doing.

VRGK did not make enough money to keep this up longer and it’s now showing. I can’t pay someone else to help develop this, if I can’t even survive on my own anymore.

Project Nova is now cancelled.

It’s not finished, and I will not be able to finish it how I planned to at the end of last year. There is no good way for me to continue with this project anymore. There have been too many unexpected and uncontrollable things happening.

I have been giving out some mixed signals over the past month related to the project’s status, and I want to apologize for that. I was truly trying to find a way to direct the situation into a better state. It was only a few weeks after the announcement I made in June, that I was able to truly sort out my thoughts and see where it’s going. It’s going wrong.

I know that this is a disappointment, but I am at the end of my resources and abilities.

Please move on. Do not wait for any news regarding this Project.
I’m sure that someone out there will be making their own and better system soon enough, if that has not already happened.

Going forward

Final Words

This has been a very difficult decision to make, but I will not be able to continue like this. Not anymore. The situation looked a lot different and better at the end of 2022.

I’m thankful I got to even be here. I’m sorry that I can’t provide better news.

Thank you for the past 2 years.
Thank you for reading.

Goodbye.
